Holistic Wellness is an approach to health that considers the whole person- Mind, Body and Spirit- rather than just treating the symptoms. It emphasizes balance, prevention and natural healing methods.

CORE ELEMENTS OF HOLISTIC WELLNESS

NUTRITION & NATURAL REMEDIES- Focus on whole, nutrient dense foods. Meats, fruits, vegetables and grains are a combined power house for a whole nutrient diet. Nuts and seeds can pack a lot of power in those little bodies essential for over all health. But I have to state, if your intolerant or allergic to anything please listen to your healthcare provider.

Herbal medicines, and detoxifications are essential when speaking in terms of gut health that essentially, control every single part of the body. When looking in terms of the human body, we have to remember, that, EVERYTHING is connected. In my opinion, as a massage therapist for 20 years and someone who’s worked with herbs since I was a child, I’ve found that even with my own children, when it comes to preventive and certain times of the year, what grows works best with our bodies-naturally.

Gut health, prebiotics, probiotics, herbal tinctures and herbal oils are life.

PHYSICAL HEALTH & MOVEMENT- Encourage exercise tailored to individual needs, such as yoga, tai chi, and strength training. Making a routine and having a friend to do this with keeps us motivated and accountable, even if it’s just walking your dog or taking a nightly or morning walk, having good company definitely helps to keep a routine.

MENTAL & EMOTIONAL WELLBEING- Supports mindfulness, meditation and stress management techniques. Explore emotional intelligence, self care, and trauma healing.

SPIRITUAL & ENERGETIC BALANCE- Incorporate practices like Massage Therapy, Reiki, Sound Healing, and Chakra Alignment. Practices like Acupressure, Acupuncture, and Trigger Point Therapy are also helping depending on your needs. Most massage therapists, at least the experienced ones will know where to direct you when it comes to different aspects in your journey and/or healing based on the information you provide there’s a network, at least there should be.

ENVIRONMENTAL & LIFESTYLE CHOICES- Be your own advocate. Let’s be honest for a minute, for those of us who want to be healthy, have different ways of our bodies and minds and spirits feeling healthy. But having affordable and accessibility to healthy and real food for everyone in this country is essential. Not everyone feels their best with an all meat diet, not everyone feels their best with an all vegetarian or vegan diet. I’m going to say be your own advocate because we all have the power if we can just look at our own health and our own finances and advocate what our own families need. Humans biology is the same all over the world. This includes our food, our skincare, our household products. I’ve personally, spent over 100 hours learning how to make professional skincare products as well as 950 hours (twice) in massage therapy schools that included Ayurvedic and Chinese Traditional Medicine over the years.

The only companies who care about these things I’ve spent my whole life learning and being of service to the American Public. I’m going on a rant now, I’m very passionate about natural health and I have been since I was a little girl but that’s a story for another time.

Always check for botanical extracts. These flowers, roots, leaves and such were put here to help us. Detoxification with things like pink clay and bentonite clay and activated charcoal are things people have been using since the beginning of time for detoxification. I have to say, life may have been harder but their beauty standards was top notch. They way they preserved people and stayed young around the world can not be debated.
